Great Edinburgh Run 2017
Join the Citywise Glasgow mentors as they travel to the capital and tackle the ups and downs of the Great Edinburgh Run! We’re raising funds for the Heroes Academy summer projects we’ll be organising in Glasgow in July. The play-based curriculum is designed to support young people in the transition from primary to secondary school: learning in disguise as fun! We use the theme of superheroes to help young people discover what it takes to become an everyday hero.
Our target for the race this year is to have 40 people running, raising an average of £250 each. Don’t be put off by the length of the run – we’re just doing the 5 mile course! And raising the funds is easy: as soon as you get 20 friends to give you a tenner you’re almost there. Together we’ll smash the fundraising efforts of those southern pansies doing the Great Manchester Run!
This will pay for 50 places on our free summer clubs which are offered to disadvantaged young people transitioning from primary to secondary school in Manchester and Glasgow. We’re offering everyone who runs with us free entry to the race, a running shirt, transport from Glasgow to Edinburgh (and back!), and snacks and drinks on the day, providing you raise a minimum of £100.
