Great Manchester Run 2017
On the 28th May 2017 the Citywise Gazelles will be hitting the streets of Manchester in the Great Manchester Run 2017, and we would love you to join us! It doesn’t matter if you’re Mo Farah or a couch potato, if you can slog out 10K in anything under 24 hours you can join our elite squad. We’ve even timed it perfectly as a stress-busting day off in the middle of exam season!
Our target for the race this year is to have 40 people running, raising an average of £250 each so we smash our total target of £10,000. This will pay for 50 places on our free Heroes Academy summer clubs which are offered to disadvantaged young people transitioning from primary to secondary school in Manchester. The play-based curriculum is designed to support young people in the transition from primary to secondary school: learning in disguise as fun! We use the theme of superheroes to help young people discover what it takes to become an everyday hero.
We’re offering everyone who runs with us free entry to the race, a running shirt and a celebratory BBQ after the race, providing you raise a minimum of £100.
