Gabriella Gebrselassie (I wish!)

Gabriella is running the Great Manchester Run 2017!

I am undertaking the Manchester 10km with both my mum and sister to raise money for Citywise- as I am super competitive I not only want to come first out of Team G but also would like to complete the race in around 50 minutes. Dave, one of our project leaders, (who created my very funny photo above and my new running name) and I have been competing daily with how many runs we have been on and how quickly we are running-so we really are aiming for record breaking times!!!
I’m taking part in the Great Manchester Run on 28th May to raise money for the 2017 ‘Heroes Academy’! The money raised at last year’s Great Run gave 120 young people in Manchester access to the free holiday club. The play-based curriculum is designed to support their transition from primary to secondary school: learning in disguise as fun! We use the theme of superheroes to help young people discover what it takes to become an everyday hero. I am extremely passionate about this charity, I am both a mentor for year 7 and 10 boys and an intern in their office. Mentoring really changes the lives of young people and teaches values that simply get missed out of core lessons.
The 10km will be my first race since becoming ill last year with glandular fever.I am so pleased I am fit and healthy again and can raise money for this amazing charity. Therefore, any donations will be greatly appreciated by both myself and Citywise. The money directly benefits so many children across Manchester and I would be so grateful for your support.
Thank you so much,
Gabriella 🙂
