Goal Mood Boards

In order for us to set goals, we need to figure out what we want in life. This Goal Mood Board activity is a fantastic one to do with family and children, because it prompts us to communicate and express our ideas, hopes and dreams with our loved ones. Creating an artistic representation of your ambitions and hopes is a great visualisation tool, and might just help pave the way to turning your dreams into reality. Give this a go with the children in your life and see what you come up with!

Equipment

  • A3 Card or Paper
  • Pens or Pencils
  • Glue
  • Magazines
  • Scissors

Step 1: Arrange!

First things first, have a think about the following questions:

  • What kind of person would you like to be?
  • Are there any skills you would like to have?
  • What is one thing would you like to be remembered for?

Once you’ve discussed these questions, flick through some magazines or newspapers. Start to cut out any pictures or words that best reflect your answers.

Another way of doing this would be to print out any images you find on google images, and cut them out.

Step 2: Glue!

Now take your images and glue them down onto your A3 piece of card or paper. If you would rather write or draw then feel free to do so.

When everything is glued down, discuss with your child about what their hopes and dreams are.

Why did they pick those words or images? What could they do to achieve these goals? We have a great blog post about setting steps to achieve our goals! Check it out here!

Once you’re finished, make sure you put your mood boards somewhere they can be seen easily and often, and they’ll act as a reminder of your goals and dreams!
