It was 24 years ago this month (it’s August 2018 as I write this) that a group of students in Manchester ran a holiday club for local children in Hulme, just round the corner from the current Citywise offices. They wanted to offer a safe, positive environment for young people during the long summer holiday: a place to make friends, play sport, have fun, and do a few academic refresher activities before heading back to school in September.
Over the years, the vision of these students has been taken up by hundreds of volunteers. As we approach our 25th anniversary, we are delighted to once again be holding a similar holiday club, and Family Day BBQ, but this time in our own dedicated family centre in Rusholme! Summer Holiday Club: Heroes Academy
Our Heroes Academy will be running for 5 days at the end of August for children going into years 3, 4, 5 and 6 this September. We will finish off the week with a BBQ where all and any local families are welcome to join (see below).

The Big Family Day BBQ
To launch the Citywise Centre we are holding a Family Day and BBQ on the 1st September, and everyone is invited for LEGO fun, face painting, a bouncy castle, arts and crafts, a tombola and more!
