Are you up to the challenge?

Let’s attempt the Scoop the Cotton challenge!

Equipment

  • Cotton Wool balls
  • A Large Spoon or Spatula
  • A Big Bowl
  • Blindfold

This exercise is simple; just try to get the cotton wool balls into the bowl. Easy right? Only catch is…you’ll need to it blindfolded!

Spread the cotton wool balls out on a table. Take turns to be blindfolded, hold the bowl on the top of your head and scoop the cotton balls into the bowl. The objective is to get as many balls into the bowl as you can within 1 minute.

Remind your child that this challenge is about resilience, so if they think they can’t keep going, then encourage them to keeping trying! They’ll need to get all of the cotton wool balls into their bowl, no matter how many times that takes to do!

Once this activity is completed, why not try it with different items and different utensils, e.g. beads, marshmallows, forks, a bowl etc.

However you choose to do this, we’d love to see it so be sure to tag us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @CitywiseUK. Remember don’t give up!
