Last week we hosted Thank You events in Glasgow and Manchester to say a proper thank you to our mentors and volunteers for everything they have given this year!
120 volunteers have undergone training to help equip them to form healthy, nurturing relationships as mentors to young people across 9 projects this year! In total they have given a staggering 5,599 hours of mentoring to young people, helping them to unlock their potential, lead flourishing lives and contribute to their communities!

Every year we like to celebrate our volunteers and award prizes to three people in each city who have gone above and beyond during their year with Citywise. Here are our award winners for 2019!
Mentor of the Year Award
This is awarded to our most exemplary mentors for their outstanding work with their mentees, which brought about a significant difference in the mentees’ lives.

Best Volunteer Award
This is awarded to people who have shown the greatest commitment to Citywise and have made extraordinary contributions this year!

Manchester winner: Marcelle Samuels
Citywise Character Award
The final award is given to a mentor with a deep understanding of the importance of character and personal growth. This is reflected in their ability to model character to their mentee and transmit this passion for growth.
Glasgow winner: Rory Zhang
Manchester winner: Maria Cortijo-Rojo
