It’s not long until May 12th and the start of #Citywise214!
Our volunteers in Glasgow are kick-starting our 8-day challenge by running Glasgow’s Toughest Run on May 12th. Throughout the 8 days various #214 challenges will take place such as ridiculous bike rides and extravagant bake sales. The challenge will be completed in Manchester with the Great Run Half Marathon and 10k on May 20th. By then we will have covered at least 214 miles, the distance between the two Citywise hubs, and raised £214 each.
Here’s what we will be up to throughout the week…
Saturday May 12th
Our brave fundraisers take on Glasgow’s Toughest Run 10.5K!
Sunday May 13th
A team of intrepid cyclists will be facing the endurance test of cycling 30 miles from Glasgow to Loch Lomond… and back.
Between May 14th- May 18th
Delicious bakesales will be taking place in Glasgow and Manchester selling 214 cakes, raising £214 and spreading some love to hungry students as they complete their final exams.
Friday May 18th
The Big Swim! Another group of fundraisers will be heading to the Aquatics Centre in Manchester to swim their socks off (hopefully they won’t be wearing socks) and taking on their own #214 swim challenges.
Sunday May 20th
30 Citywise fundraisers from across Manchester will be running the Great Manchester Half Marathon and 10K followed by a huge BBQ for our runners and supporters.
Monday May 21st
54 very tired but fulfilled fundraisers will wake up knowing that their hard work and blisters have been worth it because of the incredible difference they have made to young people’s lives across Manchester and Glasgow.

Why are we taking on 8 days of ridiculous challenges? Because we are passionate about supporting young people as they unlock their full potential, live flourishing lives, and give back to their communities. We seek the best for every young person we work with and offer tailored 1:1 support to help them lead a flourishing life through our model of character mentoring.
Our 54 fundraisers think this is a good enough reason and are getting their Just Giving pages up and running, you can give and check out our total here:
